The #LBDI Day 5: International Anti-Slavery Day
Day 5 and the last day of #LBDI is International Anti-Slavery Day and yes, sadly, modern slavery remains an issue globally, including right here in London. Even for those able to escape, it often leads to other challenges. It’s no surprise that there are deep links between modern slavery, destitution, homelessness and abuse, especially for women.
That’s why we’re grateful for our work with Hestia, who provide refuges and support services for victims of domestic abuse and modern slavery in London. Last year, the JLL hosted holiday parties and assembled much needed welcome packs full of essentials for those escaping abuse.
