Holiday Hampers 2025 Press Release
JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LONDON CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF IMPACT THROUGH HOLIDAY HAMPERS
PRESS RELEASE

London, 22 November 2025 – The Junior League of London (JLL) is proud to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Holiday Hampers, its longest-running and most cherished community initiative.
Since its launch in 1995, Holiday Hampers has redefined the traditional gift-drive model. Each year JLL members collect and pack hampers with gifts, food, toiletries, and essential items, which are then distributed through the JLL’s community partners. The programme supports Londoners facing a wide spectrum of challenges: from older adults experiencing isolation to families working to achieve long-term stability. Every hamper is designed to provide practical support, dignity and joy during the holiday season.
Over the last 30 years, JLL members have assembled more than 18,000 hampers for individuals and families across London. Last year alone, JLL volunteers packed more than 850 hampers, reaching more than 1,100 Londoners in need through 15 dedicated community partners.
“For the Junior League of London, the Holiday Hampers programme is a beloved tradition that represents the core of our mission to support our community,” says Alyson Tart, President of the Junior League of London. “The hampers programme allows us to connect across the city, from community partners to our members and other individuals and companies who donate, bringing support to individuals and families who need it most. There is such a joy and sense of purpose when our members are preparing and assembling hampers. Each item packed delivers hope and holiday spirit, as well as a reminder of community support and that no one is truly alone.”
Holidays Hampers was launched in 1995 by the Junior League of London, part of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), an international organisation of women who all share the same mission: to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training.
Continuing support for Holiday Hampers
To maximise impact in its 30th year of Holiday Hampers the JLL is calling on corporates or individuals to support the initiative through the donation of items for hampers. The JLL will be collecting items until the end of November for inclusion in hampers this year or for replenishing stocks to ensure the long-term continuity of the programme. About the Junior League of London
The Junior League is a registered UK charity and member of the Association of Junior Leagues International. The first Junior League was established in New York in 1901, and there are now nearly 300 Leagues, with 125,000 volunteers, in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, Kenya and France. The JLL’s mission as an organisation is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training. Our current community focus is eradicating poverty in London.
Active in London since 1978, when it was first called the London Service League, the JLL has almost 250 volunteer members, who provide more than 850 hours of service to the community each year, through programmes that seek to break the cycle of poverty in London. The JLL raises funds through its Spring Soiree, a publication for recent arrivals to the capital called Living in London, other fundraising events, corporate giving, grants, donations and members’ dues.
